Role Overview

In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade data models, dashboards, and data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, data engineers, and leadership to translate complex datasets into meaningful, performance-optimized BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models
  • Build and manage data pipelines, lakehouses, and warehouses within Microsoft Fabric
  • Develop optimized DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query (M) transformations
  • Design scalable data models following best practices (star schema, SCDs, performance tuning)
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, APIs, Dataverse, SharePoint, third-party platforms)
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage workspace governance
  • Monitor and optimize report performance, refresh schedules, and capacity usage
  • Support migration of legacy reporting systems into Microsoft Fabric
  • Document technical architecture, data flows, and report logic
  • Stay current with Microsoft Fabric roadmap updates and new Power BI capabilities

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional Power BI development experience
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, or Real-Time Analytics)
  • Strong proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles (star schema, snowflake, SCD)
  • Experience extracting and transforming data using SQL
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-functional, Agile environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (PL-300, DP-600)
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Databricks
  • Exposure to Python or PySpark for data transformation
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD deployment for BI
  • Experience with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview
