Security Tester

We are seeking a diligent Security Tester to assess the security of our software systems.

The Security Tester will be responsible for identifying and exploiting security vulnerabilities in applications, networks and systems.

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in security frameworks, threat modeling, and security testing methodologies.

They should have a deep understanding of how hackers work and ability to keep up with the fast pace of change in the criminal cyber-underworld.

Key Responsibilities:

- Performing security testing on systems, networks, and software applications

- Identifying and addressing security issues with systems and software designs

- Creating and executing test plans and test cases for security testing

- Conducting risk assessments and reporting identified vulnerabilities to the management

- Performing penetration testing to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities

- Using security testing tools and software to carry out tasks effectively

- Keeping up-to-date with the latest security and technology developments

- Recommending and implementing security improvements

- Documenting security breaches and assessing the damage they cause

- Working with development teams to ensure secure coding practices are in place

- Training staff on network and information security procedures and best practices

Required Skills & Experience:

- Proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer.

- Experience in building and maintaining security systems.

- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security.

- Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.

- Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.

- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.

- Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.

- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
