Initiative Boosts Female Participation in Nigeria’s Tech Sector

The Girls Tech Boot Camp is training over 300 secondary school girls across Nigeria in AI, Data Science, and Python. Organized by the Girls Techies Humanitarian Initiative and funded by the NeurIPS Foundation, the five-day program runs across all six geopolitical zones.

The initiative aims to bridge the gender gap in technology by giving students early STEM exposure and hands-on coding skills, supported by ongoing school tech clubs.

Early Technical Education and Skill Development

Program leaders emphasize that early exposure helps girls build confidence and compete in technical fields. Participants learn practical applications to prepare for future careers in software engineering and digital technology.
