Lesotho Invites Nigerian Businesses with Capital Guarantees

The Kingdom of Lesotho has invited Nigerian investors to move their operations from South Africa to its territory. Speaking at a business meeting in Abuja, Prime Minister Sam Matekane promised better security and strong support for new enterprises. The country is focusing on economic growth through industrial development, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

Market Access and Tax Benefits

Lesotho offers direct access to regional markets through trade agreements like SACU and SADC. Member state access allows local manufacturers to import raw materials duty-free for export production. To attract foreign capital, the government guarantees full profit repatriation, low electricity rates, and protection against double taxation.
