The National Addressing Council (NAC) has approved the initial framework to build a modern Nigeria digital addressing system, overseen by the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation as central secretariat.
The updated Nigeria digitized address framework replaces outdated 2017 policies to securely connect physical addresses with national digital identities.
Key Agency Responsibilities
- NIMC: Manages individual identity verification and address linking.
- CAC: Validates registered corporate and business addresses.
- NIPOST: Oversees postcode administration and postal infrastructure.
- Local Governance (NGF & ALGON): Drives community-level implementation and verified proof of address.
