The Tech Girls Club launched the Ibadan edition of its AI/Data Science for Her boot camp to encourage Nigerian schoolgirls to use technology to solve community problems.

Sponsored by NeurIPS, the STEM program aims to close the gender gap for African girls in tech. Dr. Ronke Sakpere explained that AI uses data to help people make smart choices. Students learn digital basics, Excel, Python, and machine learning. Speaker Pastor Adeola Bamgbose urged them to build ethical AI with a focus on privacy and fairness.

As the final stop after cities like Ilorin, Port Harcourt, and Zaria, the Ibadan boot camp includes a five-day team challenge. Students use their new skills to build real-world solutions, paving the way for future tech jobs and presenting projects at local science events.
