The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has made its inaugural commitment to an African venture capital vehicle, investing $8 million (€6.8 million) in the Ventures Platform Pan-African Fund II. This allocation aims to address critical early-stage capital deficits across high-growth African technology markets.

The $84 million fund targets early-stage tech startups operating in key regional ecosystems, including Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, and Senegal.

  2. Logistics & Agriculture: Solving infrastructural gaps and supply chain bottlenecks.
