GigaLayer Expands Its Domain & Hosting Footprint with Registeram Acquisition

Nigerian cloud and web infrastructure provider GigaLayer has completed the acquisition of domain registrar and hosting company Registeram.com Limited, marking another step in its market consolidation strategy. The financial terms of the deal were not publicly disclosed.

Registeram — established in 2008 and accredited by the Nigeria Internet Registration Association — brings a longstanding client base and local registry expertise to GigaLayer’s platform. According to the company’s leadership, many of Registeram’s customers have maintained their services for over a decade, highlighting the stable user base gained through this deal.

According to Techpoint Africa, the takeover is part of GigaLayer’s broader expansion play, following several prior acquisitions of regional hosting services. The integration process is underway, with infrastructure consolidation expected soon and service continuity for existing Registeram clients being prioritised.

GigaLayer’s portfolio already includes services spanning domain registration, web and cloud hosting, and data centre operations. The company emphasises that growing through acquisitions accelerates its ability to compete in Nigeria’s evolving tech infrastructure market, where demand for local cloud and hosting services remains strong.
