The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has partnered with Meta, the 3MTT programme, and RAIN to launch a national artificial intelligence academy. The initiative helps developers and entrepreneurs transition from basic AI concepts to building commercial products.
The program combines online learning, startup funding, and technical mentorship to expand Nigeria's tech talent pool.
Technical Training and Startup Acceleration
The academy runs three main tracks: AI skills training, a startup pitchathon, and a six-week coding bootcamp. Participants access free courses in generative AI, prompt engineering, and Meta's Llama models. Top performers earn certification scholarships and ad credits.
Ten startups will compete at GITEX Nigeria, with two winners receiving $5,000 in cash, ad credits, and a trip to represent Nigeria at Meta's AI Summit in Istanbul.
